THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	HEART STEALER (O Noach) and GO IT ALONE (D Schwarz) were slow into stride. 
b)	STARS IN HEAVEN (K Steyn) jumped inwards. 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, NIGHT BOMBER (L Mxothwa) cast its left front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay.
b)	Shortly after the start GO IT ALONE (D Schwarz) and HEART STEALER (O Noach) which had been slow to begin, had to be steadied away from the heels of STARS IN HEAVEN (K Steyn), which shifted in sharply leaving the stalls.	
c)	Jockey A Andrews (BOOGIEFIELD [AUS]) had difficulty gathering his reins at the 150m.
d)	Jockey R Khathi reported that NIGHT TIGER changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey D Schwarz reported that GO IT ALONE coughed post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f)	In view of the performance of GRAND BAY (G Wright), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
g)	OLIVER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus was advised. (WM)
