THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	BATTLE OF KURSK (X Ndlovu) was stubborn loading, causing a delay.
b)	ACT NATURALLY (*N Nastili), POMPEI WARNING (C Zackey) and PASHTUNWALI (S Naidoo) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	BATTLE OF KURSK (X Ndlovu) and GLOBETONIC (Y Ramzan) pulled hard in the early and middle stages.
b)	Approaching the 1000m, the saddle on POMPEI WARNING, which commenced to over race, slipped forward in running, placing Jockey C Zackey at a disadvantage. This was confirmed on the video footage.
c)	In view of the performance of MAKHACHEV (S Khumalo), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding BATTLE OF KURSK (X Ndlovu), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 15/05/2024 to 21/05/2024 inclusive). BATTLE OF KURSK may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
e)	ON THE ROAD AGAIN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)
