Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PERINI PALACE (W Marwing) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with SMASHING (KA BREWER) leaving the stalls. b) LA CHANCE (C Habib) and GREEN LIGHTNING (*MK Katjedi) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) RULER OF JUSTICE (C Zackey) was hanging out from the 300m. b) SCARLET (N Klink) ducked out sharply for no apparent reason at 150m. c) Jockey G Lerena was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride DRAGON DRAGON out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Jockey G Lerena signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00. In assessing penalty, the Board took into account that Jockey G Lerena had not prejudiced his chances of obtaining 4th place. d) JUST THE TWO OF US, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie was advised.
