Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	Fair start.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:

a)	Jockey S Brown reported that he felt something amiss with CASSOWARY in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
b)	When afforded the opportunity to place on record any factors which may have accounted for the poor performance of NIGHT LILY, Jockey Munger explained to the Board that it was always his intention to sit at the back of the field and run on as this is how NIGHT LILY had performed best previously. He said that she had travelled well up to the 600m, thereafter when asking for an effort, NIGHT LILY had not responded to his urgings and had faded out tamely. He reported something amiss with this filly and was at a loss to explain today's performance. Jockey Munger's explanation was corroborated by the patrol film.
Trainer R R Sage has been requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables.
c)	ANGEL'S WISH (M Khan), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee Warrick Marwing advised (DR).
When questioned regarding the improved performance of ANGEL'S WISH, Stable Employee Warrick Marwing could offer the Board no suitable explanation. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running.
