Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	TURBO BOOST (X Carstens) was restless in the stalls and reared.
b)	FOUR JACKS (L Mxothwa) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	At the 1200m TOUCHDOWN (A Arries), which over raced in the early stages, raced onto and clipped the heels of MONT LOISIR (R Fourie).  The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine MONT LOISIR (R Fourie).
b)	TOUCHDOWN (A Arries) was hanging out from the 400m.
c)	At the 300m STEADFAST (JP van der Merwe) had to be steadied away from the heels of MONT LOISIR (R Fourie) when carried outwards by IN THE BAG (R Khathi), which in turn was carried out by CARRIACOU (S Veale), which shifted out. Shortly thereafter, IN THE BAG (R Khathi) had to be steadied briefly when close to the heels of CARRIACOU (S Veale), which shifted out. An Inquiry will be opened into this incident.
d)	In view of the performance of TURBO BOOST (X Carstens), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding TURBO BOOST (X Carstens), Trainer PD Reeves will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
f)	CARRIACOU, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised. (DD)
