THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HOME OF THE BRAVE (D De Gouveia) stumbled leaving the stalls. b) QUASIMODO (C Maujean) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 400m, UNITED COUNCIL (S Khumalo) shifted out sharply away from the crop and was corrected. b) In view of the performance of WEATHER WIZARD (*M K Katjedi), (distance 9,25 lengths, betting 9/4), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Assistant Trainer J Crawford, acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford, was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of WEATHER WIZARD on return to stables. c) Jockey G Lerena reported that JET DYNASTY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) HOME OF THE BRAVE (D De Gouveia), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer T Zackey advised (MS).
