THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start EL REY VIENE (S Khumalo) was bumped in by IMPERIAL POWER (J Jacobs) which jumped inwards. b) Leaving the 350m RALPH THE RASCAL (C F Dicken), MISS ARLBERG (S Moodley) and ALL THE TIME (C Maujean) were carried in marginally by LICENCE TO THRILL (T Godden), which rolled in. c) At the 200m, LICENCE TO THRILL (T Godden) was carried out marginally by DYNALLEY (C Zackey) which shifted out away from the crop and was straightened. d) Shortly before the finish EL REY VIENE (S Khumalo) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of RALPH THE RASCAL (C F Dicken) which shifted out away from the crop. e) Jockey C Habib reported that LORD WYLIE took an awkward stride at the 100m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) STRATHCLYDE (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
