THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUESTION OF FAITH (X Carstens) jumped slow, losing one length. b) WYLIE JACK (C Bantam) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of WORDSWORTH, which failed to respond to Jockey R Fourie's urgings, took an awkward stride at the 100m and was not persevered with in the latter stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) SWIFT ACTION, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PAW Botha was advised.
