Stipes Report

The start of this race was delayed due to the late arrival of the horses at the start, the subsequent late positioning of the stalls on the track, as well as the draw allocation boards having to be attended to. Thereafter during the loading process RUBY RISING (K Matsunyane) became restless and rushed the front fates. RUBY RISING (K Matsunyane) was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded, leading to a further delay to the start of this race. 

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	During the loading process RUBY RISING (K Matsunyane) became restless in the stalls. This filly was removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded. 
b)	FIRE TIGER (M Yeni) lost 1 length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	At the 150m LIFE ON THE TIDES (S Moodley) was switched to the outside of LONG STREET (S Hlengwa) to continue its run. 
b)	Approaching the 100m Jockey S Hlengwa (LONG STREET) briefly dropped his left side rein.
c)	In view of the performance of INCENDIARY (A Mgudlwa) (26.15 lengths, 66/1 in the betting) which trailed the field on debut, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
d)	In view of the performance of FIRE TIGER (M Yeni) (12.15 lengths, 40/1 in the betting) which came under early pressure and continued to give ground to the field from the 400m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.  
e)	Jockey J Jacobs signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on LONG STREET, resulting in a change of rider. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. 
f)	SERPENTINE FIRE (N Patel), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee T Ryan acting for Trainer M J Odendaal was advised (SP).

a)	FIRE TIGER raced equipped with blinkers (advised 06.03.2025/09h17).
b)	Jockey S Hlengwa was the rider of LONG STREET (advised 07.03.2025/14h32).
