THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	MAFIABAGSTHEMONEY (C Maujean) was stubborn loading.
b)	TORNADO KING (AR Al-Mansouri) was stubborn loading and thereafter was slow into stride.
c)	CAPTAIN EFFICIENT (M van Rensburg) jumped inwards.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	RESURGENCE was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2 testing. The first specimen revealed a level of over 35 TCO2. mmol/L. Trainer K Mitchley was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer K Mitchley was informed that the second blood specimen had revealed a level above the international threshold of 36 mmol/L and that consequently RESURGENCE was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 13h16, 4/1 in the betting). RESURGENCE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised (Dr E Reynders)
b)	Light rain fell prior to and during the running of this race.
c)	Approaching the 200m TORNADO KING (*AR Al-Mansouri) was directed outwards and into clear running.
d)	Jockey C Maujean reported that MAFIABAGSTHEMONEY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
e)	Apprentice AR Al-Mansouri was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on TORNADO KING, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. Apprentice AR Al-Mansouri signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
f)	BYTHELITEOFTHEMOON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)
