Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	REUNION HOTSPOT (X Ndlovu) jumped slow, losing one length.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After the running of Race 4, Jockeys lodged a protest in terms of Rule 5.2.3. Their concerns being that the track had continued to deteriorate and was now unsafe for racing. A panel was formed in terms of the rules and in consultation with the Racing Operator, in the best interest of not losing the race meeting and the safety of both horse and rider, the decision was made to move Races 5 to 8 to the polytrack. Trainers were afforded the opportunity to withdraw horses that would not be suited to this change of surface. The Racing Bureau were requested to eliminate runners in Race 7 as per normal procedure. Race 5 was rescheduled to start at 14h50 to facilitate this change.
b)	JAM JAM (X Ndlovu) and TIME FOR GLORY (C Maujean) bumped shortly after the start.
c)	Jockeys C Habib and KA Brewer, the riders of IDABELLE and KITTY MO respectively, reported that these fillies did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d)	AS FATE HAS IT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
