THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GALACTUS (C Zackey) was slow into stride. b) VHAGAR (M V'Rensburg) and FRENCH DUCHESS (A Mgudlwa) lost 1 length. c) LUCKY SPIRIT (*S Hlengwa) jumped awkwardly and lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start GALACTUS (C Zackey) was brushed out by AMOR FATI (S Veale) which was brushed out by CHAKPORI (*M K Katjedi) which jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls. b) CHAKPORI (*M K Katjedi) over-raced in the early stages. c) FUTURE FLO (R Fourie) was hanging in, in the straight. d) GALACTUS (C Zackey) was hanging in from the 300m. e) Jockey D De Gouveia reported that BARRY DU GROND made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) CELTIC CHIEF (C Orffer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
