Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) An Inquiry will be opened in order to establish why BARBARESCO (G Lerena) was carried out substantially at the 900m. b) HLUHLUWE (G van Niekerk) over-raced in the early stages. c) At the 200m GREEN WITH ENVY (C Zackey) which was hanging in from the 300m, shifted in towards FLAG MAN (S Moodley). Simultaneously FLAG MAN (S Moodley) shifted in away from the crop. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into this incident. After reviewing the patrol film from the various angles, the Steward was satisfied that the result of the race was not affected and therefore took no further action. d) Jockey S Veale reported that the saddle on THE GREY KING slipped forward in the running which resulted in him being unable to fully assist this gelding to the end of the race. e) GREEN WITH ENVY (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer D Kannemeyer advised (DZ). f) FLAG MAN (S Moodley), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) BARBARESCO raced equipped with ear muffs (advised 24.05.2024/10h01). b) Jockey K Matsunyane was the rider of HOTARUBI.
