THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIZZEN SAIL (D De Gouveia) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 150m, RICHARD THE FIRST (R Fourie), which had come to the end of its run, was steadied to avoid the heels of WYZEACT (M van Rensburg), which commenced to hang out and shifted out. Jockey M van Rensburg appeared before the Board and was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to keep his mounts straight in races. When taking into account WYZEACT'S history of shifting unnecessary ground in races, Trainer C Spies was advised to take the necessary steps to improve this gelding's racing manners. b) Jockey C Habib reported that KYOMAI changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) THE AFRICA HOUSE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (MduP).
