THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) Fair start.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) Shortly after the start, PREEMPTIVE STRIKE (S Veale) was bumped outwards by SUCCESSFUL RULER (*S Sosibo). Thereafter, Jockey S Veale reported that PREEMPTIVE STRIKE took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
b) At the 400m, DISPICABLE (K de Melo) became cramped for galloping room between FIERY DUKE (M Yeni) and SUCCESSFUL RULER (*S Sosibo). Thereafter, Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with DISPICABLE in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer A Rivalland will be advised to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables.
c) JUSTAGUYTHING (*R Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer O Mhlamvu acting on behalf of Trainer G H van Zyl advised (NS).
