THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OFFICIAL SECRET (R Fourie) and DAME OF FLAMES (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of PUBLIC BENEFIT (S Khumalo), which brushed the inside running rail leaving the 1200m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) In view of the performance of OFFICIAL SECRET (R Fourie), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) Jockey P Mxoli was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of SAY YES he misused his crop by striking SAY YES more than 12 times (14) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey P Mxoli signed an admission of guilt and was fined R4 000,00. d) GIDEON'S DAUGHTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Mtengwana, acting on behalf of Trainer AC Greeff, was advised.
