Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ETOILEFILLANTE (M Winnaar) and DREAMALITTLEDREAM (G Wright) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) WATER DRAGON (A Arries) sat down in the starting stalls, was taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race, causing a delay. Prior to re-loading, WATER DRAGON (A Arries) had to be re-saddled. b) From the 800m LORD SAYE (GB) was allowed to race around runners and into a forward position. c) At the 450m STYLE ICON (X Carstens), which had to be ridden along to hold its position, took an awkward stride away from the inside running rail, losing momentum. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) APACHE CHIEF (JP van der Merwe) was hanging out in the latter stages. e) Jockey A Arries reported that WATER DRAGON took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. f) TSUNAMI WARNING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
