THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OLIVER (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. b) GIMMELIGHTNING (JP van der Merwe) and DEAN STREET (C Orffer) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, GIMMELIGHTNING (JP van der Merwe) was carried inwards by DEAN STREET (C Orffer), which was hanging in in the early stages and shifted in. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that OLIVER did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) SILVER CROWN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
