THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GLORIA MUNDI (+J Bessel) and CENTREFOLD (+S Dwayana) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 700m, MESSALINA (+S Mkhumbuzi) was carried out by CHICAGO LASS (+S Myendeki), which rolled out on the latter part of the turn. b) In view of the performance of CHICAGO LASS (+S Myendeki), (distance 9,80 lengths, betting 5/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) In view of the performance of MESSALINA (+S Mkhumbuzi), (distance 13,00 lengths, betting 9/4), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer C Spies was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of MESSALINA on return to stables. d) OH MY GUCCI GIRL (+S B Mthembu), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (MduP). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) BACARDI BABE: Work Rider T Ncume weighed out at 56,5kg, 1,5kg over the carded weight.
