Stipes Report
The start of this Race was delayed due to the previous race delays. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LITTLEBLACKGEM (R A Venniker) was stubborn to load. b) MORNING OF MY LIFE (*S Hlengwa), PAPURY (C Maujean) and FIRECRACKER (S Veale) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) FIRECRACKER (S Veale) failed to parade in front of the grandstand. Trainer S H Ferrie was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) FACILE (R Fourie) shifted out sharply shortly after the start and thereafter raced green. c) BLOWIN IN THE WIND (A Mgudlwa) over-raced in the early and middle stages, proving difficult to settle. d) PAPURY (C Maujean) over-raced in the early stages. e) HOT LAVA (C Zackey) raced wide in the back straight and around the early part of the turn. f) In view of the performances of BLOWIN IN THE WIND (A Mgudlwa) (6.95 lengths, 33/10 in the betting), FACILE (R Fourie) (3.70 lengths, 15/10 in the betting) and PAPURY (C Maujean) (12.35 lengths, 50/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) Trainer A Wright signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of RULE 8.3.1., in that she failed to ensure that the owner's colours were available for the horse BLOWIN IN THE WIND. Accordingly she was issued with a warning. h) THE QUEEN BEE (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) BLOWIN IN THE WIND raced with club colours.
