THE STARTER REPORTED A) VISTA NOVA was nervous, fly jumped leaving the stalls and was slow into stride. B) INHERIT THE RAIN was slow into stride. C) WILLIAMS LAND was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) CRUZADOR (*Y Ramzan) cast its right front shoe leaving the 1100m. B) Leaving the 300m, VISTA NOVA (R Munger) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between CELTILLUS (R Fourie) and INHERIT THE RAIN (G Cheyne). C) AL QAASIM (M Yeni) was hanging in from the 200m. D) Jockey R Fourie reported that CELTILLUS did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. E) In view of the performance of VISTA NOVA (R Munger) (distance 5.85 - betting 50/9) the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. F) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning AL QAASIM (M Yeni), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised. G) The winner INHERIT THE RAIN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM).
