Stipes Report
The start of this race was delayed due to FAMOUS AND RICH (*J Botes) having to resaddle at the start. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start ONE IRISH ROVER (R Fourie) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed between BRASS BELL (M Yeni) and KNIGHT WARRIOR (T Godden) which rolled out. b) ONE IRISH ROVER (R Fourie) over-raced in the early stages. c) The saddle on FAMOUS AND RICH (*J Botes) slipped back in the running. This was confirmed by the Patrol Video evidence. As a result Apprentice J Botes was unable to fully assist his mount to the end of the race. d) In view of the performances of ONE IRISH ROVER (R Fourie) (6.75 lengths, 13/10 in the betting) and LAKE COMO (R A Venniker) (7.35 lengths 10/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Apprentice J Botes (FAMOUS AND RICH) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. f) WINTER WAVES (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
