THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE, THE 30-MINUTE INTERVAL BETWEEN RACES, THE LATE ARRIVAL OF DESTINY FULFILLED (D SCHWARZ)  AT THE START AFTER HAVING ITS BRIDLE REFITTED IN THE SADDLING ENCLOSURE, AS WELL THE STARTING STALLS HAVING TO BE REPOSITIONED ON THE TRACK.  

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	IT'S UP TO ME (*J Botes) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.	
b)	SOLAMENTE (R Danielson) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	SKITTLES SKIES (K A Brewer) and SOLAMENTE (R Danielson) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. 
b)	Jockey Wes Marwing reported that OKLAHOMA TWISTER raced with its tongue over the bit.
c)	STALWART (J Penny) hung in from the 400m. 
d)	Jockey R Danielson did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey R Danielson reported that SOLAMENTE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey	D Schwarz reported that DESTINY FULFILLED did not stride out freely in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 		 		
f)	Apprentice J Botes, the rider of IT'S UP TO ME, rode a satisfactory qualifying ride.
g)	BREGARDT (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
