THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE AS WELL AS THE LATE ARRIVAL OF SCALLYWAG (C HABIB) AT THE START FOLLOWING TCO2 TESTING. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) EMPORIUM (*M K Katjedi) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) LA MOOHAL (S Khumalo) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after start, PROFESSOR SNAPE (K Matsunyane) and COMMAND PILOT (K A Brewer) came together and brushed when awkwardly placed between TRIDENT KING (M Yeni), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and EMPORIUM (*M K Katjedi), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) In view of the performance of PAISLEY PARK (P Strydom), which hung in from the 500m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) TAMARISK TREE (D Schwarz) shifted out at the 150m to continue its run. d) In view of the performance of RIVER ROMEO (*A R Al-Mansouri), (distance 36,00 lengths, betting 100/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding e) Jockey C Maujean reported that KYOMAI changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) COMMAND PILOT (K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (MduP).
