THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE AS WELL AS SAHARA DAWN (S KHUMALO) PROVING RELUCTANT TO PROCEED TO THE START AND HAVING TO BE LED. THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SAHARA DAWN (S Khumalo) proved reluctant to canter to the start. Stable Employee S Mtwesi, acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry, was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, she may be suspended. b) Jockey C Habib reported that WINGS OF NIKE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) CHOCOLATE SOLDIER (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee F Naude was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) KING OF KILDARE raced with a tongue tie on (declared 20 June 2024 at 07H32).
