Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	MEETATTHEWINDSOR (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gates.
b)	DUKE OF OXFORD (C Maujean) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls.
c)	GODFATHER (S Khathi) was slow into stride.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Prior to the running of this race, Trainer JP Nel advised the Stewards that he had instructed Jockey Y Ramzan not to use the crop on MEENEERA if at all possible, as in his opinion, this mare resents it. This information was disseminated to the racing public via the on-course presenters. 
b)	Between the 350m and 150m ADIOS AMIGOS (D Shwarz) had difficulty obtaining clear running and was directed to the inside of MEETATTHEWINDSOR (R Fourie).
c)	Approaching the 200m GREAT TIMES (*DB Geerthsen) was directed outwards away from the heels of CAPTAINS WALK (*N Nastili), which was hanging in.
d)	At the 150m, the shock-absorbing material covering the shaft of Jockey L Mxothwa's (WIND SOCK) crop came adrift. Thereafter, Jockey L Mxothwa elected not to make use of his crop.
e)	Jockey C Maujean reported that DUKE OF OXFORD did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
f)	CAPTAIN'S WALK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM)
