THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COTTON RON (S Khumalo) and LOVE IN WINTER (S Veale) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Jockey M Yeni appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to his ride on ANOTHERDAYINAFRICA with particular reference to the amount of vigour and determination shown in today's race. He explained to the Board that this gelding had raced in a handy position, however when asked for an effort ANOTHERDAYINAFRICA did not respond to the crop initially and had elected to ride with hands and heels. Although this gelding sustained a strong finish Jockey Yeni felt that it was one paced for the majority of the race. The Stipendiary Board have adjourned to review this ride from Jockey Yeni. b) In view of the performances of FASHION MISTRESS (C Habib) (8.55 lengths, 5/1 in the betting) and GRANDDADDY PURPLE (*S Hlengwa) (8.25 lengths, 16/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) NDAKA (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Crawford acting on behalf of Trainer L Crawford advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) DROGARATI raced equipped with blinkers (advised 24.06.2024/08h51). b) Jockey C Habib (FASHION MISTRESS) weighed out at 54.6kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) FASHION MISTRESS : Not striding out left hind. b) GRANDDADDY PURPLE : Nothing obvious detected. c) PURPLE POWAHOUSE : Returned post-race having cast the right front shoe. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS : DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
