THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAIGON SUZIE (J Greyling) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SEVENTEEN AGAIN was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2 testing. The first specimen analysed at 12H22 revealed a level of over 35 TCO2 mmol/L. Trainer F P Habib was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer F P Habib was informed that the second blood specimen, analysed at 12H34 had revealed a level above the international threshold of 36 mmol/L and that consequently SEVENTEEN AGAIN was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 12H41, 2/1 in the betting). b) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning WHAT A DIAMOND, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Stable Employee N Mofokeng, acting on behalf of Trainer J A Soma, was advised. c) GAELIC DANCER (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
