THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE COURSE MANAGER HAVING TO ATTEND TO AN ISSUE WITH THE INSIDE RUNNING RAIL AT THE 1000M. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CANTKEEPASECRET (C Maujean) and ICE SPA (D Schwarz) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly before the finish line, MARY READ (P Strydom) was steadied in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of DOITWITHDIAMONDS (C Habib), which rolled out, and on the inside of KEY WORKER (G Lerena). b) Apprentice T Mayhew reported that THREE BELLS did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that SIERRA SKY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) DOITWITHDIAMONDS (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A P Peter advised (MS).
