Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AERIAL VIEW (Y Ramzan) was nervous in the stalls. b) DAME OF FLAMES (*N Nastili) rushed the front gates of the starting stalls. c) JOY AND PEACE (R Fourie) and OFFICIAL SECRET (X Ndlovu) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DAME OF FLAMES (*N Nastili) raced wide on the turn and into the straight. b) GIDEON'S DAUGHTER (K Minnie) was carried inwards and had to steady for a number of strides when awkwardly placed between AMAZING COLOURS (M van Rensburg) and ESSENTIAL (S Naidoo), which shifted inwards from approximately the 400m. Jockey S Naidoo appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger measures to straighten his mounts timeously in future engagements. c) OPERA SWING (C Maujean) was held up for a clear run from approximately the 300m and had to be switched out to obtain a clear run at approximately the 150m. d) In view of the performance of SAY YES (*MH Alabdulmalik) (Betting 7/1; Distance 16.45 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was requested to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. e) JOY AND PEACE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
