Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PILOT FLAME (C Zackey) lost 4 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) A Race Review was called into the start of this Race where it was established that PILOT FLAME (C Zackey) in Stall gate 9 had cast her head into the adjacent starting stall as the start was effected. As a consequence this filly was slow, losing 4 lengths. The Board was of the opinion that this loss of distance was as a consequence of this filly's own behaviour and therefore, acting in terms of Rule 61.5.10.3 declared her to be a runner. b) PILOT FLAME (C Zackey) hung out from the 300m. c) At approximately the 700m, the saddle on CRAZY BLUES (*B Plaatjies), which commenced to over-race, slipped forward badly and as a consequence of this, Apprentice B Plaatjies was unable to fully assist this filly throughout the running of the Race. d) Shortly before the finish line NETTLETON (G Lerena), which hung in, and KISSHOTEN (A Mgudlwa) which shifted out marginally away from the crop, came together and brushed. e) LOCK AND KEY (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
