THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LEGEND OF ARTHUR (R Fourie) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly before the finish, SKITTLES SKIES (K A Brewer) was directed inwards away from the heels of LEGEND OF ARTHUR (R Fourie), which took an awkward stride and shifted out. b) Jockey R Fourie reported that LEGEND OF ARTHUR did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that ZANTHAR made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) MOUNT PINATUBO (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (MS).
