THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) FAMOUS WARRIOR (R A Venniker) was hanging in from the 300m. b) At the 300m COMMANDING (C Habib) was switched to the outside of FRENCH FLAME (C Zackey) to continue its run. c) ROYAL ALLIANCE (*N Nastili) raced detached from the field throughout. d) At the 250m PARISIAN WALKWAY (K A Brewer) was bumped and unbalanced by FRENCH FLAME (C Zackey) which shifted in. A race review was called into this incident by a member of the Stipendiary Board. After viewing the patrol videos of the race, the Board was of the opinion that but for the above incident PARISIAN WALKWAY (K A Brewer), would not have beaten FRENCH FLAME, and therefore took no further action. In arriving at this decision, the Board took into account the distance between these two horses at the finish and the extent of the interference. e) An Inquiry will be opened to establish why PARISIAN WALKWAY (K A Brewer) was bumped and became unbalanced at the 250m. f) In view of the performance of FAMOUS WARRIOR (R A Venniker) (11.90 lengths, 14/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) SPIRIT OF LEVANA (*M H Alabdulmalik), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G S Kotzen advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) ROYAL ALLIANCE raced equipped with blinkers (advised 08.07.2024/09h49). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) FAMOUS WARRIOR : Nothing obvious detected. THE MEDICAL OFFICER REPORTED : a) Apprentice M H Alabdulmalik was stood down after the running this race with a knee sprain. Rule 25.12 applies.
