The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PORFIRIO (M Yeni) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) SACRED LILY (S Hlengwa) hung out from the 250m. c) CONNOISSEUR (K Matsunyane) was baulked for a clear run between the 150m and 100m. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that PORFIRIO did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) KING BAVARIAN (*J Botes), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright was advised (SP).
