EN ROUTE TO THE START, RAINBOW REWARD (J GREYLING) LIFTED ITS LEFT FRONT SHOE WHICH WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE FARRIER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MOUNT PILATUS (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) RICHARD THE FIRST (D Schwarz) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) DANILO DANILOVITCH (R A Venniker) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, ROLLWITHTHEPUNCHES (*T Mayhew) was squeezed out between RICHARD THE FIRST (D Schwarz), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and SUPER AWESOME (M van Rensburg), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) CHYAVANA (G Lerena) hung out in the concluding stages. c) In the concluding stages, MOUNT PILATUS (M Yeni), which hung in, and PASSAGE OF POWER (J Gates) came together and brushed. d) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with FIRE 'N FLAMES in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Trainer F P Habib was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.1.2 in that he failed to ensure PASSAGE OF POWER was presented at the Racecourse at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of the 7th race. Trainer F P Habib signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2500. f) MOUNT PILATUS (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) FIRE 'N FLAMES not striding out right front. b) MOUNT PILATUS scalp wound on both hind. SCRATCHED: a) TULIP TREE abscess left front (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
