THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FRENCH DUCHESS (S Khumalo), MAPHAKA (C Zackey), GIFT OF ROYAL (K A Brewer) and GHAF TREE (A Mgudlwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) CLAYMORE (C Habib) stumbled leaving the starting stalls. b) SILVER SAVAGE (S Moodley) shifted out sharply away from the crop at the 150m. c) GHAF TREE (A Mgudlwa) raced detached throughout. d) Jockey R A Venniker reported that RAILROAD took an awkward stride at the 200m. In view of this report the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of LIKE A BUTTERFLY (S Veale) (11.80 lengths, 10/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Apprentice M Mbuto (MO KING) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. g) SILVER SAVAGE (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
