Stipes Report

The start of this race was delayed due to the reasons stated in the Starters' report below. 

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	PLAZA ACCORD (S Moodley) and WINTER GAMES (T Godden) were restless in the stalls. Removed from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded.    
b)	WINTER GAMES (T Godden) lost 1 length.
c)	AFRICAN SKYLINE (*D Pillay) lost 2 lengths.
d)	REEFWAY (C Maujean) lost 3 lengths.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Leaving the starting stalls THE REAL PRINCE (C Zackey) was bumped in by WINTER GAMES (T Godden) which was carried in by YAMADORI (S Veale) which jumped inwards. Thereafter WINTER GAMES (T Godden) was squeezed out. 
b)	BEECHAMWOOD BOY (S Khumalo) was hanging in throughout. In view of the performance of this gelding (7.10 lengths, 10/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
c)	At the 150m EXCEPT TEMPTATION (C Habib) was steadied in anticipation of the available run between YAMADORI (S Veale) and COMMON GROUNDS (A Mgudlwa) closing. 
d)	Between the 150m and the 50m PAISLEY PARK (*K J Lihaba) which was hanging in from the 300m was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of NEITHERHERENORTHER (K A Brewer) which had come to the end of its run.
e)	Jockey A Mgudlwa reported that he felt something amiss in the running with COMMON GROUNDS. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
f)	Apprentice D Pillay (AFRICAN SKYLINE) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. 
g)	THE REAL PRINCE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Kannemeyer advised (SP).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a)	Apprentice K J Lihaba was the rider of PAISLEY PARK (advised 20.07.2024/09h00).
b)	Jockey R Fourie (STRATHCLYDE) weighed out at 55.1kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight.
