THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HIGHVELD STORM (*T Mayhew), RED LEGEND (C Zackey), GOLD DE GRACE (L Nhlapo) and SILVER SEVEN (*S Hlengwa) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 600m, HIGHVELD STORM (*T Mayhew) was brushed in by FINAL TRY (G Lerena), which was directed inwards away from the heels of BRIGHTEST BLAZE (J R Syster) to continue its run. b) PURSUIT OF FAME (*B Plaatjies) shifted in away from the crop from the 300m. c) SILVER SEVEN (*S Hlengwa) shifted in away from the crop from the 200m. d) Apprentice B Plaatjies appeared before the Board, in the presence of National Riding Master, Mr R Moore and was advised against the practice of looking around in races. d) FINAL TRY (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (MduP).
