THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FAR REACHING (G Lerena) jumped inwards sharply leaving the stalls. b) VILLA SEMAYA (R Danielson) and SILVER FLARE (P Mxoli) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly before the finish line, CARTAGENA (*T Mayhew) was steadied when racing into restricted galloping room between FAR REACHING (G Lerena) and PERINI PALACE (*B Plaatjies), which was carried out by TOGETHER AGAIN (M Yeni), which hung out from the 250m. b) Jockey D De Gouveia reported that SILKY JET made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey R Danielson reported that he felt something amiss with VILLA SEMAYA in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) TOGETHER AGAIN (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (MS).
