THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO OBSIDIAN (K MATSUNYANE) BEING SUBJECT TO A LATE VETERINARY EXAMINATION. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OBSIDIAN (K Matsunyane) was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped inwards, making contact with the right-side front gate. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey G Lerena reported that KIA KAHA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) TAXI TO THE MOON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
