Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CRIMSON FOREST (P Mxoli) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GUARDIA REGINE (C Maujean) was brushed inwards by CLAW (G Lerena), which shifted in away from the crop. b) Jockey R Danielson reported that he felt something amiss with LEAO ALADO in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) SHINTO SHRINE was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2 testing. The first specimen analysed at 16H05 revealed a level of over 35 TCO2 mmol/L. Trainer A P Peter was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer A P Peter was informed that the second blood specimen, analysed at 16H16 had revealed a level above the threshold of 37 mmol/L and that consequently SHINTO SHRINE was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 16H25, 7/2 in the betting). d) LAUGHING WILLIAM (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Dawson, acting on behalf of Trainer C Dawson, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
