DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, RISING RUSSIAN BECAME RESTLESS AND BROKE THROUGH THE FRONT GATES, DISLODGED JOCKEY D SCHWARZ AND BOLTED THE COURSE. THIS FILLY WAS TAKEN IN HAND, EXAMINED BY THE COURSE VETERINARY SURGEON AND SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. THIS INCIDENT CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CYBER SPIRIT (P Mxoli) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow, losing two lengths. b) During the loading process, RISING RUSSIAN (D Schwarz) broke through the front of the gates and bolted. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer R R Sage was advised (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CYBER SPIRIT (P Mxoli), after being slow away, failed to muster speed on debut and trailed the field throughout. b) AFRICAN BEAUTY (P Strydom) hung in from the 400m c) At approximately the 200m, KOMATI RIVER (C Habib) was steadied in anticipation of racing into a diminishing run between TAKE YOUR PLACE (M Yeni) and KINGS AGAIN (M van Rensburg), which shifted in away from the crop and was straightened. d) In the concluding stages, TAKE YOUR PLACE (M Yeni) was steadied when awkwardly placed between KINGS AGAIN (M van Rensburg), which shifted both ways while racing green, and EXECUTRIX (S Khumalo), which rolled out. e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to RISING RUSSIAN, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 31 July 2024 to 6 August 2024. RISING RUSSIAN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer R R Sage was advised. f) Trainer J A Visser was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate CYBER SPIRIT against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer J A Visser signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. f) KINGS AGAIN (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee F Naude was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) CYBER SPIRIT was ridden by Jockey P Mxoli (declared 27 July 2024 at 11H29). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CYBER SPIRIT raced equipped with blinkers (declared 27 July 2024 at 11H29) and unshod (declared 29 July 2024 at 09H32). b) INSTANT ATTRACTION raced with a compression mask (declared 29 July 2024 at 08H00). c) KINGS AGAIN raced with a compression mask (declared 29 July 2024 at 08H06).
