Stipes Report
The delay to this race was delayed due to the previous race delay. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAN MARZANO (K Matsunyane) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 800m CODE OF CONDUCT (T Godden) ran onto and clipped the heels of SAN MARZANO (K Matsunyane). b) At the 200m NOTABLE (S Moodley), which had come to the end of its run, was steadied momentarily off the heels of CODE OF CONDUCT (T Godden) which rolled out. c) Approaching the finish PASCALI (*S Hlengwa) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the inside of the heels of BLAZING LIGHT (S Veale) which rolled in marginally. d) In view of the performance of NOTABLE (S Moodley) (11.75 lengths, 25/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E, Guideline M), in that as the rider of BLAZING LIGHT he misused his crop by striding this gelding more than twelve times (14) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R4000 was imposed. f) TOM'S ACT (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Campbell advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey K Matsunyane (SAN MARZANO) weighed out at 52.7kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
