THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUELLO CHE (*T Mayhew) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) PATH FAIRY (J Greyling) and KURAMATHI (P Mxoli) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 1200m, SPIRIT IN THE WIND (L Nhlapo) was steadied outwards away from the heels of QUELLO CHE (*T Mayhew), when carried out by KURAMATHI (P Mxoli), which commenced to over-race and shifted out. b) At approximately the 200m, Jockey L Nhlapo (SPIRIT IN THE WIND) briefly got his crop entangled in his left side rein. c) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that MESSALINA coughed in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) SILVER PARASOL (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SPIRIT IN THE WIND was ridden by Jockey L Nhlapo (declared 1 August 2024 at 10H12). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) QUELLO CHE new ownership: Messrs R P Macnab, C D Brown, Mr D and Mrs S Sibanda, colours: Blue, white crossed sashes, red sleeves and cap (Sold with engagement). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MESSALINA examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) QUELLO CHE blowing post race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
