EN ROUTE TO THE START, CARE TAKER (S KHUMALO) LIFTED ITS LEFT FRONT SHOE WHICH WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE FARRIER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SOVEREIGNS CALL (P Mxoli) over-raced in the early stages. a) At approximately the 800m, I BELONG (M Yeni) broke down and was eased out of the race. b) The saddle on SPRING PALACE slipped forward in running placing Jockey J R Syster at a disadvantage and, as a consequence, he was unable to ride this gelding out to the end of the race. b) CARE TAKER (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee A Mdiyana advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) I BELONG broke down - right hind tibia. Humanely euthanased.
