THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FUN ZONE (S Veale) and KNOCKOUT (G van Niekerk) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of JAPANESE ROSE (S Moodley), which over raced in the early stages and tired quickly in the straight, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Jockey's C Orffer (SCHOOL POLICY) and M Mjoka (MONASHADA) reported that their mounts felt uncomfortable in their actions due to the soft underfoot conditions. c) KNOCKOUT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (SC) d) SCHOOL POLICY, the fourth-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
