THE STARTER REPORTED: a) INNAMORARE (G van Niekerk) was restless in the stalls and jumped awkwardly. b) CHARLIE MALONE (A Andrews) and INDECENT PROPOSAL (K Steyn) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TOUT A FAIT (D Schwarz) had difficulty securing clear running between the 400m and the 200m. b) MAGIC VERSE (S Veale) was held up for a clear run between the 100m and the finish. c) CHARLIE CROKER (A Andrews) raced onto the heels of SCALINI (O Noach) and had to be steadied at the finish. d) Jockey C Orffer was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on FUTURE TURN, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, resulting in a change of Rider. Jockey C Orffer signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00. e) SOLAR POWER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
