The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREENLIGHT EXPRESS (K A Brewer) was stubborn to load and was restless in the stalls. b) ALWAYS SHINING (S Khumalo) was restless in the stalls. Lost 2 lengths. c) FIRELIGHTER (N Patel) was restless and reared in the stalls on 1 occasion. d) GOLD RUSH KID (T Godden) lost 3 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the starting stalls GREENLIGHT EXPRESS (K A Brewer) brushed the right side starting stall gate. b) Jockey K A Brewer reported that he felt something amiss with GREENLIGHT EXPRESS in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) GENERAL BYNG (*N Nastili), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Naidoo advised (SP).
