THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LAUNCH CODE (S Khathi) was nervous in the stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. b) SILENT WHISPERER (P Mxoli) jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) 'O CAPTAIN (D Schwarz) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GREAT TIMES (M van Rensburg) and LAUNCH CODE (S Khathi) brushed slightly when GREAT TIMES (M van Rensburg) shifted ground on the turn. b) SILENT WHISPERER (P Mxoli) over raced in the early and middle stages and was allowed to race wide on the turn and into the straight. Jockey P Mxoli appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to the manner in which he rode this filly. He explained to the Board that the field had slowed the pace and as this filly was over racing, he made the decision to allow this filly to race around the field to obtain a handy position. Thereafter, this filly did not have sufficient turn of foot to obtain a handy position on the turn and into the straight. He further reported that this filly did not stride out freely in running in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine SILENT WHISPERER. c) MEETATTHEWINDSOR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
