THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PETIT VERDOT (*S Hlengwa) over-raced in the early and middle stages. Thereafter this mare hung out from the 200m. b) MANIC MONDAY (J Botes) raced wide throughout. c) HOT STRIKE (S Moodley) shifted in away from the crop at the 300m. d) Shortly before the finish MANIC MONDAY (*J Botes) which shifted in, had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of ESCAPOLOGIST (C F Dicken). e) Jockey K A Brewer reported that GIVERS GRACE did not stride out freely in the running and as a result did not persevere with his mount from the 400m.
